Locally sourced fruits
At the heart of our Sanpellegrino Italian sparkling drinks are fresh fruits, the source of our authentic Mediterranean taste. Our goal is to collaborate with our suppliers to protect the health of the plants and support the local communities.
Our Sanpellegrino drinks are produced exclusively in Italy, with sun-ripened Mediterranean fruits. All the lemons and chinotto we use are grown in Sicily while oranges are harvested in south of Italy. Pruning and harvesting is done with traditional methods to safeguard the quality of the product. Furthermore, we have established long-lasting strong relationships with our suppliers – our experts visit several times a month to guarantee the highest standards.

A noble water
In the early 19th century, nobles traveled to San Pellegrino Terme at the foot of the Italian Alps; they would ‘take the water’ for its health benefits, then take a few bottles home.
1899
The Sanpellegrino Company is founded
In our first year we produce 35,343 bottles of S.Pellegrino mineral water, and ship 5,562 overseas.
1908
S.Pellegrino goes global
Our mineral water grows in popularity around the world – and is now enjoyed in Cairo, Calcutta, Shanghai, the US, Brazil, Peru and Australia.
1920s
The queen of the table
S.Pellegrino's classic advertisements appear, describing our water's beneficial properties and its perfect match for fine food.
1932
The world's first orangeade
Innovative new owner, Ezio Granelli, creates Sanpellegrino Aranciata, which is a huge success.
1950s
The world is drinking S.Pellegrino
By the end of the decade we have sold more than 100 million bottles worldwide.
1957
Acqua Panna is born
The Acqua Panna Company is incorporated by Sanpellegrino. Located in beautiful Tuscany, the Acqua Panna spring and its surroundings had been appreciated by the famous Medici family since Renassance times.
1999
A tasteful centenary
The Sanpellegrino Company celebrates its first 100 years. The events culminate in Maestro Riccardo Muti directing a performance of Mozart's Don Giovanni at La Scala Opera House in Milan. Over 2,000 guests join us from around the world.
2001
The launch of Aranciata Rossa
Aranciata Rossa, the blood orange version of the popular Aranciata, appears for the first time on shelf alongside the rest of the range.

A billion bottles
Global sales of S.Pellegrino mineral water and Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages reach a staggering 1 billion bottles in a single year.
2011
A leading voice in fine dining
S.Pellegrino launches 'Fine Dining Lovers', a magazine aimed at foodies and aficionados of culinary culture around the world. It rapidly becomes a leading voice in global gastronomy.
2015
S. Pellegrino nurtures culinary talent
S. Pellegrino launches the first edition of its global talent search to find the best young chefs in the world. From 2020, the competition is part of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy. We also sponsor the World's 50 Best Restaurants award.
